Dance

The Bachelor's Degree in Dance (LD) establishes as its mission to train dance professionals in the areas of performance-creation, management and teaching, to become agents capable of building spaces and conditions that promote the transmission, development and projection of dance as an artistic fact and as a factor to sensitize society from a humanistic vision.

 

Applicant’s Profile

The practice of dance at the professional level involves a high performance training, which requires both a great physical effort and a mental and emotional strength to overcome the technical or physical obstacles encountered. For this reason, it is of great importance to facilitate their entry, permanence and development in the degree and later in the professional field of dance, that the applicant has a state of optimal physical-mental health, complexion and musculoskeletal characteristics suitable for a good technical development of the dance.

Admission Requirements

-Adequate complexion for high performance physical activity.
-Adequate proportions for the demands of contemporary dance.
-Physical aptitudes of flexibility and coordination.
-Musicality (auditory-motor coordination).
-Optimal state of health (physical and mental).
-Motor and musculoskeletal conditions suitable for a good technical development of the dance.
-Perform evaluation of skills

Stages of the skills test

-Musculoskeletal examination, which evaluates whether the applicant's body structure is suitable for dance.

-Sample class of dance techniques observed by synods; their motor skills and their affinity to the area of folkloric or contemporary dance are evaluated.

-Presentation of a choreographic exercise in which the applicant demonstrates his/her creativity and expressiveness.

Degree Profile

  • The Bachelor in Dance is a performer and artistic creator, capable of directing teaching-learning processes and managing cultural projects that promote the transmission, development and projection of dance as a factor of awareness related to social problems with a humanistic sense, and will be competent to:
    -Direct teaching-learning processes, through the application of didactic and methodological strategies specific to dance, to promote the development of skills and knowledge, with responsibility and respect.
    Carry out cultural projects, through the application of processes, techniques and management tools, to successfully influence the development of art and culture, with honesty and responsibility.
    Produce scenic discourses, through experimentation and application of intrinsic knowledge of dance, to elevate artistic production, with critical thinking and creative freedom.
